The Sensational Sleepers

From their inception in 1964 to their break-up in 1968, The Sleepers were a pop group to be reckoned with. Eschewing the usual trite radio covers, the Sleepers delved deep into what were then called 'race' records: R&B, and soul, covering artists like Wilson Pickett, Sam and Dave, Otis Redding and The Temptations. Four little white kids in a southwestern Minnesota town, trying to prevent the blind censors from imposing their lack of vision on the rest of us.
