*Music Director, arranger and duet partner with Gene Pitney, 1986 until Mr. Pitney’s death in 2006. Also played “a little piano” for Bobby Vee in the mid-eighties. Mr. Rue developed a ‘passing acquaintance-relationship’ with The Crickets who were touring simultaneously with Gene Pitney. As music director History Theatre's five SRO productions and with the help of Gene Pitney's erstwhile manager, Jack Thibault, Gary was able to arrange the Crickets’ attendance on opening night and their subsequent enthusiastic endorsement of the production and the musical delivery.
